ODI-OLOWO OJUWOYE CONVERGES TO DISCUSS ROADMAP FOR GREATER DEVELOPMENTS

The Chairman, Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA Hon. Rasaq Olusola Ajala and his team yesterday met at Raddisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja to discuss the road map to deliver his electoral promises to the people of the LCDA.

The plan which he tagged "Road Map To a Giant Leap" encompasses his plans for all sectors within the LCDA. In his opening address, HRA said the previous years of his administration had committed itself to the 5 Giant Deal in Big 4 years, which were his covenant with the people of the LCDA.

He called on his Deputy, Hon. Seyi Jakande, to enumerate their achievements on the 5 cardinal programs in the last four years. Hon. Jakande stated that despite the hitches brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic and ENDSARS protests, the administration still did well in delivering its campaign promises to the people of the LCDA.

He mentioned some of these areas such as health and environment, infrastructure development, social intervention (sport, women and youth development), education and capacity building, and security. In his words, "Without mincing words, the administration had done tremendously well in all the sectors of development in the past four years in the LCDA.

"The government has done well in the area of health and environment, social intervention, sport and youth development, and security."

He added, "Over 50 roads were constructed across the LCDA while all the blocked drainages were cleared. "No primary school in the LCDA without the government intervention in one area or another "Government has also been supportive in the area of sporting events and Entrepreneurship for the people among others."

While explaining the importance of the meeting, Hon Ajala stated that it was aimed at keeping the new management staff who were just being posted to the LCDA abreast of the programs in the last four years and to let them key into the new ones.

He reiterated the program revenue drive to be rejuvenated to meet the funds needed to execute all the planned programs of the administration for the next four years.

He called on the head of the market in the LCDA, "Iyaloja" of Odi-Olowo Alhaja Olubunmi Mufuliat to make input on this.

The Iyaloja reiterated her commitment to encouraging the market men and women to pay their dues as and when due.

She said she had been doing this and would continue to do everything to support the administration. The Chairman of the Artisans in Odi-Olowo-Ojuwoye LCDA, Comrade Moshood Olamilekan, said he was ready to join the task force to ensure members of his association pay their dues.

Hon. Ajala said, "Why the stakeholders were called was to involve them in the plans of the administration and for them to be in a better position to inform the public of these plans.

"The party leaders, the legislative arm of government, members of the community development committee (CDC), leaders programs kept Association and Artisans were invited to the event to keep them abreast of our programs and to involve them in our plans to make our community an excellent one among the committee of local governments in the state and the world in general."

Hon. Ajala said their involvement was critical because they are in the best position to explain the government's plans to the people, especially in the area of revenue drive.

The Chairman of the party in the LCDA, Hon. Babatunde Ismail Kazeem (TUNKAZ), promised that the leadership and all members of the party will support all the programs of the government.

The CDC Chairman, Otunba Adekunle Adebayo Adedeji, said the association was ready to work with the government for the betterment of the community.

The event went to the closing session with a program sent to staff on the plans to generate funds for the council to execute all the planned programs in the next four years.

At the event were the Vice-Chairman, Hon. Oluseyi Jakande, leader of the legislative arm Hon. Rilwan Ajenifuja and all the Councillors from the nine w.ards.

Head of Administration in the council, Alhaji Shakirudeen Omotayo, Council Treasurer Mr. Shuaib Babalola Badmus, Head of Departments in Education, Works, Environment, Legal, Auditor, Budget, Procurement Officer, information Unit and supporting staff.
